The talks in the Normandy format will be held in Berlin today. Advisors to the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany will continue the discussion on the settlement of the conflict in Donbas in two weeks from the last meeting, the Foreign Ministry informs.
Another round of talks in the Normandy format will be held in Berlin today. It was announced during the Paris meeting of the Quartet advisors two weeks ago.
As noted, the same composition of participants will gather - political advisors to the heads of states. Ukraine will be represented at the talks by Andrei Yermak. Russia will be represented at the meeting by Dmitry Kozak, Germany's Jens Pletner and France's Emmanuel Bonne.
For the Ukrainian side, security issues and implementation of the Minsk agreements are a priority at the meeting. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated his unchanged position at the talks and stressed that Ukraine would not engage in any direct dialogue with the ORDLO.
The minister said that the goal of the maximum meeting was to unblock the work of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas. And as a minimum - to continue the work of the Normandy format and plan new meetings, which would show Russia's intention to remain in the diplomatic track of relations.
Andrei Kostin, deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, said that Russia's unblocking of humanitarian issues was the main expectation of the upcoming meeting. He also said that the issue of the need to observe the "silence regime" in Donbas would be raised at the talks.
Russian negotiator Dmitry Kozak said that the meeting in Berlin should be a continuation of the contacts that took place during the Normandy talks in Paris. He noted that the sides will try to "find solutions to all the problems that have not been solved."
