Medical system collapse not fixed - Kuzin said, how many unvaccinated medical workers were suspended from work

Ukraine has suspended 2,136 employees of medical institutions not vaccinated against COVID-19, Chief State Sanitary Inspector Igor Kuzin wrote on Facebook.

"Amendments to the order, which expanded the list of organizations whose representatives are subject to compulsory vaccination against COVID-19, came into force on January 31," the official wrote.

He specified that 216 doctors and 765 nurses were among those suspended.

The chief state sanitary doctor added - a total of about 0.2% of the total number of employees of medical institutions were suspended.

"Of course, this is not a result that can be called positive or satisfactory. However, we certainly do not record the collapse of the medical system or the mass suspension of physicians during the pandemic," the official stressed.

Also, according to Kuzin, a total of 7,531 representatives of professions that were required to be vaccinated were suspended. Most of them are employees of public utilities - 4,578 people, he added. Also not vaccinated were 1,001 employees of household staff and 154 of administrative staff, Kuzin specified.
