Foreign Ministry Confirmed Blinken's Arrival in Kyiv on January 19

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has officially confirmed that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Ukraine on 19 January.

A statement to this effect was made by the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"Dmytro Kuleba and Anthony Blinken will hold talks on the further implementation of a comprehensive deterrence package for Russia, practical support for Ukraine by the United States, active diplomatic efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict," the statement said.

The heads of Ukrainian and US diplomacy will also discuss a wide range of issues of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the US in security, trade, investment and other spheres.

Earlier on Tuesday, information about Blinken's visit was confirmed on Twitter and by the US Embassy in Ukraine.

It should be noted that the visit of the US diplomat to Kiev comes after a week of tense diplomatic meetings between Western countries and Russia in Geneva, Brussels and Vienna, where Russia's ultimatum on Ukraine's non-alignment with NATO and the reduction of the Alliance's military presence on the eastern flank was rejected.
