Pentagon does not observe reduction of Russian troops near Ukraine

The United States of America does not observe any reduction of Russian troops along Ukrainian borders. The Russian presence near Ukraine is still significant. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby stated this at his briefing.

"I can tell you with confidence that we don't see any reductions. They maintain a significant force presence in the east, the north and even the south," the U.S. defense spokesman said.

According to the latest intelligence reports, there are more than 100,000 Russian troops around Ukraine. They are concentrated near Ukraine's northern and eastern borders, as well as in occupied Crimea.

We shall remind you that the US Department of State said that the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine would signal the start of de-escalation of the situation.

In addition, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said today at the talks in Geneva that Russia has no plans to attack Ukraine.
