White House press secretary Jen Psaki has called speculation that the United States may be behind the large-scale protests in Kazakhstan insane, Novoe Vremya reports.
"These are crazy Russian claims that the U.S. is behind this. I would like to take this opportunity to state that they are false," she said during the briefing.
Psaki stressed that the U.S. is monitoring the situation in Kazakhstan and urged the protesters to act peacefully and the authorities to exercise restraint.
