Vaccination against COVID-19 resumed in Ukraine after a New Year's break

In Ukraine, 36,289 people were vaccinated against coronavirus during the past 24 hours, January 3, 2022. The first dose was given to 8,511 people, the second dose to 27,421 people, an additional dose to 96 people, and a booster dose to 261 people.

This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

Thus, vaccination centers, which were closed on January 1 and 2, have resumed their work.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in the country, 14 583 761 people have been vaccinated, of whom 14 721 822 people have received the first dose, while 13 762 16 people have received two doses. An additional dose was given to 4,159 people and a booster dose to 5,713. The total number of vaccinations was 28,493,854.

Recall that the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said that there is a significant difference between booster and booster doses. The first is used to enhance the effect of the drug, the second is used to maintain proper protection for people with severe diseases.

According to the minister, today both revaccination and booster doses are allowed in Ukraine in order to avoid a severe course of the disease.

It is optimal to administer the revaccination dose between the 181st and 270th day from the last dose. Whereas an additional dose of vaccine can be given 28 days after the main course of vaccination, explained Lyashko.
