Explosion in a hospital in Prykarpattia: the number of victims increased to four people

In Ivano-Frankovsk region today there was an explosion in the Kosovo central regional hospital. According to preliminary data, there were four victims of the explosion. This is reported by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration Svetlana Onishchuk.

 

The explosion occurred in one of the wards of the hospital intensive care unit. Currently, the circumstances of the incident are being clarified and specified. 

 

"One person died from COVID-19 disease, three - from the fire," said the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Svitlana Onishchuk.

 

According to her, three more people were injured from the explosion. They were sent to the Ivano-Frankivsk regional hospital.

 

"They are given the full range of care," Onishchuk said.

 

She also stressed that all emergency services of the city are working in emergency mode.

 

From police reports in Ivano-Frankivsk region it became known that an investigative task force, investigators of the investigation department, forensic experts, rescuers and other emergency services immediately arrived on the scene.

 

At the scene, police officers ensure the protection of public order.

 

"Investigators are carrying out the primary necessary measures to establish the circumstances and causes of the fire. Information about the incident has been entered into the Journal of the Unified Register of applications and reports of criminal offenses and other events," the report said.

 

Upon completion of the inspection of the scene, the issue of opening of criminal proceedings will be decided.
