Ukraine has already registered 3.57 million cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19. December 13, more than 7,000 cases were reported per day, which is 80% more than the day before. Of those sick overnight: children - 566, health workers - 134.

The number of those recovered is higher than the number of new ones. This is reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

"During the day on December 13 in Ukraine recorded 7,283 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19," - said in the message.

Also over the past 24 hours:

- hospitalized - 1,123 people;

- fatal cases - 387;

- 27,130 people recovered.

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

- got sick - 3,570,448 people;

- 3,233,009 people recovered;

- 91,602 deaths;

- 16,333,417 PCR tests were conducted.

During the last day, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in the city of Kiev (1,066), Poltava (751), Cherkasy (602), Donetsk (541) and Zaporozhye (405) regions.

Meanwhile, it has become known that a new strain of the coronavirus Omicron may appear in Ukraine this week. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexei Danilov said.

"According to the SNBO, the epidemic situation in our country for the holidays should be stable. A new strain of Omicron coronavirus is expected to appear in Ukraine this week. But the results of the first studies in countries where it has already been detected indicate a milder course of the disease," the Ukrainian presidential press service quoted Danilov as saying.
