The Russian military command has redeployed two more divisions to the Kursk region. The occupiers are attempting to push out the Ukrainian Defense Forces before the potential start of international negotiations, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts note that the Russian command has reinforced its grouping of forces in the Kursk region with the 76th and 106th Guards Airborne (VDV) divisions.
Experts link this decision to the Kremlin's desire to regain control over the entire territory of the region before the issue of ending the war or freezing the conflict is brought to the level of international diplomatic discussions.
According to ISW estimates, the deployment of additional divisions indicates that the Kursk direction remains a high priority for the Russian leadership as they attempt to eliminate the AFU foothold in the near future.
