In October, Ukrainian forces reclaimed more land than the Russians seized, and the Russian army's losses reached a record high since the beginning of the full-scale war, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to him, during October, the Russian army lost 54,400 troops killed and severely wounded. This marks the highest monthly figure since the beginning of the full-scale war.

Daily losses of Russian troops also turned out to be record-breaking. Specifically, on October 21, the Russian army lost 2,250 soldiers (killed and wounded).

As the President noted, at the same time, Ukrainian defenders continued to reclaim occupied territories. In October, the Defense Forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers of Ukrainian land. This is 10.4 square kilometers more than Russian troops managed to capture during the same period.

Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian military for the results achieved.

"Russia is losing, we are holding our positions, liberating territory, and doing everything to ensure that every day of this war costs the aggressor as much as possible. To stop these insane losses, it is enough for Russia to choose a ceasefire and diplomacy," the Ukrainian President stated.
