In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian fighters are conducting a special operation "Veles," within the framework of which they destroyed over a hundred occupiers and took dozens prisoner, – the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated.
According to the Head of State, the operation is being carried out by the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Khartiia."
"Over a hundred Russian occupiers have already been destroyed, and more than thirty have been taken prisoner. Using underground communications, the advance is over 15 kilometers," the President said.
Zelenskyy recalled that Russian occupiers had previously tried to use underground gas communications to advance through the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and move to assault actions.
"Ukrainian warriors successfully transformed this tactics, modernized it, and made it significantly more well-thought-out and technological. We protect the lives of our people, inflict losses on the occupier, and achieve specific goals in the Kupiansk direction," Zelenskyy stated.
