On October 27, at 03:00 AM, Ukraine declared a ceasefire in a designated area of the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region. This is necessary to provide assistance to locals and prepare for the evacuation of the civilian population, according to information released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, the defense forces are doing everything possible to help people and ensure their safety.

The General Staff urges the public to be extremely cautious regarding information and to rely only on official sources. They request to refrain from spreading unconfirmed reports and rumors about the routes, time, and locations of people and humanitarian convoys. Such information could jeopardize the safety of civilians and the operation itself.

Ukraine and Russia agreed on a ceasefire in the Oleshky area, which was achieved through the mediation of US First Lady Melania Trump. The operation to lift the siege of the city involves clearing roads, opening humanitarian corridors for the free movement of people, and delivering medicine and food.

Oleshky and neighboring communities of Kherson have found themselves on the brink of survival. The city is completely blocked, roads are mined, and the population is suffering from artificially induced starvation. According to media reports, the Russians are blocking the operation of humanitarian corridors, making the safe evacuation of civilians impossible at this time. To save the population, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are dropping food supplies into the besieged areas using drones.
