The Hungarian authorities are ready to allow and ensure the transit of Ukrainian grain through their territory, – Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated.

According to Magyar, during the plenary session of the EU summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary with a specific request. He urged them to allow the transportation of grain through their territories.

The head of the Hungarian government told journalists that he sees no obstacles to the implementation of this request.

Amid recent events, Magyar recalled that a few years ago there was a well-functioning procedure that subsequently ceased to operate.

He also shared that Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during their face-to-face meeting, stated that it would be a great help if corn could be transported to Western Europe by rail under seals.

"I said that if it is only transit through the country's territory, then of course there are no obstacles to it," Magyar emphasized.
