Only the people of Ukraine have the right to decide who and when will lead the state that is in a state of war. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha. Trump publicly called on the people of Ukraine to elect a new leader instead of Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "The time has come for Ukraine to have a new president," the head of the White House stated.
Trump also explained that he made such a proposal because he is dissatisfied with Zelenskyy's policy and his unwillingness to conclude an agreement with Russia. The US President began to make claims that the Ukrainian leader had several opportunities to end the war, but he allegedly did not use them. "I suggest that a new leader appear in Ukraine, capable of making deals... For some reason, Zelenskyy never makes deals," Trump complained.
Andrii Sybiha, commenting on the statements of the US President, reminded the latter of several key points.
"President Volodymyr Zelenskyy leads our state during the war - a war for independence, freedom, and dignity. He has the support of the Ukrainian people, and it is the people who have the right to decide," the Foreign Minister emphasized.
According to Sybiha, statements from abroad only confirm that Zelenskyy is doing his job well and that is precisely why he "deserves support."
