Swedish Prime Minister's spokesman Tom Samuelsson said that as part of a new military aid package, the country will provide Ukraine with not one, but two ASC 890 radar reconnaissance and control aircraft.
“The package includes two airborne surveillance and control aircraft (ACS 890) that will help Ukraine identify targets at long range,” he wrote on social network X.
The official also posted a photo of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson demonstrating the aircraft to Ukraine's Ambassador to Sweden Andrii Plakhotniuk.
Sweden today announced its largest military aid package yet to Ukraine, at €1,16 billion.

Illia Yevlash, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, said that the Ukrainian army has developed ways to protect these aircraft from Russian attacks.
“We understand that this aircraft will be one of the priority targets of the occupiers when it is handed over to us. Of course, we have some work done on how to protect such equipment,” he said.
At the same time, the representative of the Armed Forces urged not to rush into such discussions, as the ASC 890, like Western F-16 fighters, are just going to Ukraine.
“When they all arrive, we will see how we can protect the aircraft based on the nature of the hostilities,” explained Yevlash.
