In Sumy region, evacuations have begun from the cities of Bilopillia and Vorozhba. This is due to Russian strikes on these cities. This was reported by the head of the Sumy RMA Volodymyr Artyukh.

“We must protect our population. This is our main task, which was set by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky,” said the head of the region.

At the same time, Artyukh clarified that this is not a forced, but an early voluntary evacuation from those settlements where the number of shelling has significantly increased. Currently, the communities are informing the population about the evacuation.

“Residents of Bilopillia and Vorozhba, especially families with children who wish to evacuate, should contact their starostas and community heads. The evacuated population will be accommodated in places of compact residence in the region,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that Zelensky previously stated in his video address that Russian activity in Chernihiv and Sumy regions had increased.
