The USA is preparing to transfer a new type of long-range ballistic missiles to Ukraine - NBC

The administration of US President Joe Biden is working to provide Ukraine with new powerful long-range ballistic missiles. This was reported by NBC News.

At the end of last year, the United States began supplying Ukraine with army tactical missile systems known as ATACMS, but so far it has only supplied old medium-range ATACMS. Now the US is leaning toward sending a longer-range version of the missile, officials said. This would allow Ukraine to strike further within the Russian-controlled Crimean peninsula.

Defense officials told the publication that the US has a limited supply of ATACMS and is unlikely to send them to Ukraine without money to replenish American stockpiles.

According to two US officials, if Congress approves increased funding for Ukraine, the US could include long-range ATACMS systems in one of the first military aid packages paid for with the funds.

The United States also has ammunition and artillery ready for immediate deployment to Ukraine if funding is approved, the officials added.
