Canada's Ministry of Defense transferred $406 million to the USA for NASAMS for Ukraine, but the system has not yet been delivered

The NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system, which Canada promised to buy from the United States a year ago for Ukraine's needs, has not yet been delivered to Kyiv. This was reported by CTV.

According to the Canadian Ministry of Defense, in March 2023, Ottawa transferred $406 million to Washington for the purchase of the anti-aircraft missile system, and the US government signed a contract for its production with Raytheon.

At the same time, Kongsberg, which is also involved in the production of these systems, said that it has no such contract with either the US or Canadian governments.

It is worth noting that on January 1, Volodymyr Zelensky said in his address that he had held talks with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and thanked the Canadian politician for supplying additional NASAMS air defense systems and missiles to them.
