Russia spent at least $1.283 billion on a massive attack on Ukraine at night and in the morning of December 29, Ekonomichna Pravda calculated based on a report by the Ukrainian Air Force and open-source data on the cost of Russian weapons.
Thus, during this attack, the Russians launched:
- 36 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs;
- 90 air-launched cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55;
- 8 X-22/X-32 cruise missiles;
- 14 S-300/S-400/Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
- 5 X-47M2 "Kinzhal" aerial ballistic missiles;
- 4 X-31P anti-radar missiles;
- one X-59 missile.
The cost of the hypersonic missile X-47 "Kinzhal" is approximately $10 million and more. Thus, six launches of these missiles cost at least $60 million.
Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 kamikaze strike drones cost from $20 to 50 thousand per unit. As a result, the launch of at least 36 such UAVs cost $720 thousand.
The cost of the X-101 missile, according to Forbes, is $13 million. In total, the launch of 90 missiles cost $1.17 billion.
The X-22 missile is estimated to cost $1 million, meaning that a total of $8 million worth of missiles of this type were produced.
The cost of the Iskander-M ballistic missile varies in the range of $3 million, so the missile launch cost $42 million.
The X-31P and X-59 missiles are estimated to cost $0.5 million each. The total cost of their use in this attack is $2.5 million.
Thus, Russia spent $1 billion 283 million 220 thousand on missiles and UAVs fired at Ukraine at night and in the morning of December 29.
