There is a lack of engineers: Ukraine produces 6 times less FPV drones than Russia

Ukraine produces six times fewer FPV drones than Russia. One engineer assembles 50 FPV drones per month. This was stated by Ukrainian developers, Forbes reports.

Ukrainian companies produce about 50,000 FPV drones a month, while Russians produce six times more. These figures were provided by DroneSpace founder Maksym Sheremet.

The production of FPV drones is relatively easy to scale, as they are assembled from Chinese components.

"However, we lack people who know how to assemble everything by hand," said Oleksandr Yakovenko, who launched the production of Kolibri FPV drones last autumn.

In total, there are about 200 manufacturers of various types of drones in Ukraine, but they meet only 10-15% of the total needs of the Armed Forces, said Lyubov Shipovich, founder of the Dignitas Foundation. She estimates that the army needs about 200,000 FPV drones per month.

At the same time, Ukrainian manufacturers lack 2,000 engineers, and the industry needs 6,000 engineers to reach Russia's level.
