Szijjártó calls for peace talks on Ukraine

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó called for peace talks on Ukraine at a conference on Eurasian security in Minsk, BelTa reports.

"We are in favor of peace as soon as possible. We do not agree that the circumstances and conditions for peace will develop over time. We believe that the conditions for peace will only worsen over time. Because with each new day more people die and the destruction multiplies. I am convinced that this war has no solution on the battlefield. And the solution is built around the negotiation process, it is at the negotiating table," Szijjártó said.

In his opinion, it is necessary to "restore a civilized dialogue between the West and the East, based on mutual respect, rationality and common sense." He also assured that the Hungarian government is ready to continue working with other countries to achieve these goals.
