Zaluzhny: Our offensive is not "counterinsurgency activity", it is "Kursk"

According to the Wall Street Journal, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi expressed his thoughts to his American partners that they do not fully understand the nature of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This exchange of views was mentioned by the publication with reference to anonymous sources in American official circles.

The US military allegedly criticized the tactics used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during offensive operations. In particular, the dispute arose over the strategy of the offensive on the southern directions.

In response, the Ukrainian chief emphasized that his American colleagues "do not understand the nature of this conflict."

"This is not counterinsurgency activity. This is Kursk," Zaluzhnyi said, referring to the historic Battle of Kursk in 1943, which was a key battle of World War II.
