It was possible to restore power from the main 750 kV line at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. Before that, it was in partial blackout mode.
This was stated by Petro Kotin, the President of State Enterprise "NAEK "Energoatom".
"Now the power supply at the station has been restored and today it is powered by two lines, one 750 kV, the other 330 kV," the statement reads.
According to him, after the loss of power from the main external power line on July 4 at 01:21, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant went into partial blackout mode until all power units were powered from the backup line.
The nuclear power plant had to switch to the only available backup line of 330 kV, which was repaired and reconnected to the station only on July 1, and was damaged four months ago.
The situation at the ZANP
On June 22, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that the Russians were preparing to carry out a terrorist attack on the Zaporizhzhya NPP with subsequent release of radiation. At the same time, earlier the head of the GUR, Kyrylo Budanov, reported that the occupiers had replaced the cooling pond at the station.
After that, intelligence said that the Russians were reducing the presence of personnel at the station. Those who remained were ordered to blame Ukraine in the event of an emergency.
Budanov said today that the threat of an artificial man-made disaster at the occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP is beginning to subside.
