The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands on the "coalition of fighter jets": there is no progress yet

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Wopke Hoekstra, said on Wednesday that there is no progress in international negotiations on the possible supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

 This is reported by Reuters.

"We haven't reached a decision yet," Hoekstra said in response to a question about the previously announced negotiations between the Netherlands and Great Britain, Denmark, Belgium and other partners regarding the possible supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

"When we are ready to cross that bridge and ready to announce it, we will," he added.

In a statement on Tuesday, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he had agreed with his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte, "to work on building an international coalition to provide Ukraine with combat air power, providing support in everything from training to the purchase of F-16 fighter jets." .

Earlier this month, during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to the Netherlands, Rutte said that negotiations on the possible transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine are progressing.

Britain, claiming that it does not have the aircraft that Ukraine needs, is ready to provide support such as pilot training, as well as help countries that want to supply Ukraine with fighter jets.
