China's foreign ministry has opposed any sanctions that use Beijing-Moscow relations as a pretext to harm trade cooperation.
This was announced on Monday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, writes the Reuters agency.
In response to the European Union's proposed sanctions against Chinese companies accused of aiding the Russian military machine, Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that "if these sanctions come into effect, China will take decisive measures to protect its interests."
According to the Financial Times, the European Union plans to introduce sanctions against Chinese companies accused of selling equipment to support the Russian military machine.
The list of sanctions, according to the FT, includes two companies from mainland China, 3HC Semiconductors and King-Pai Technology, as well as five companies from Hong Kong, including Sinno Electronics, Sigma Technology, Asia Pacific Links, Tordan Industry and Alpha Trading Investments.
