On Monday, April 3, Ukraine returned 12 more citizens from Russian captivity. Among them are 10 military and 2 civilians.

This is reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

"12 Ukrainians have been released from captivity: 10 military and two civilians. Ten defenders belong to the ranks of soldiers and sergeants. They were captured, in particular, in the battles near Bakhmut, the villages of Opytny and Orihovo-Vasylivka in the Donetsk region, near Kreminnaya and Chervonopivka in Luhansk region," the message says.

It is noted that two civilians who were held hostage by the aggressor were also returned: from the village of Liptsi, Kharkiv region, and Mariupol.

The Headquarters added that the soldiers belong to the 518th separate special purpose battalion, the 25th separate Sicheslav Airborne Brigade, the 95th separate airborne assault brigade, the 93rd separate mechanized brigade "Kholodny Yar", the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of Mariupol, 57th separate rifle battalion.

Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion, 2,005 Ukrainians have already been released from captivity. Dmytro Lubinets, the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reported that 5 people freed from Russian captivity were seriously injured. He once again emphasized that Ukraine needs access to places of detention of citizens of our country. According to him, the Russian Federation does not provide adequate conditions of stay.

Earlier it was reported that today, April 3, Russia probably handed over five wounded servicemen to Ukraine.

It will be recalled that on March 24 it became known that Ukraine returned to Russia all seriously wounded soldiers who were captured since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
