The hospital, created in cooperation between Estonia, Norway and the Netherlands, has arrived in Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement on the website of the Armed Forces of Estonia.
The Estonian Center for Defense Investments (ECDI) in cooperation with Norway and the Netherlands sent aid in the form of a third field hospital to support Ukraine in the war against Russian aggression, the report said.
Norway and the Netherlands donated 7.8 million euros to send a field hospital to support Ukraine's medical capabilities.
"At the end of February, I handed over the symbolic key to the military hospital to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, in Kyiv, and I am glad that he arrived just now. In order for Ukraine to win this war, it is important that Europe supports Ukraine together, and for that we initiated the purchase by the European Union of over a million projectiles for Ukraine," Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said.
Ukraine received eight specialized medical containers, including surgical, emergency medicine, intensive care, treatment and intermediate modules, a medical warehouse, a sterilization module and a resource module.
"In addition to the usual parts of the hospital complex, storage containers, tents for living modules and a sanitary module with showers, toilets and washing machines with dryers were handed over to Ukraine," said Kadi-Kai Collo, field hospital project manager at ECDI.
Ten MAN SUVs were donated by the Defense Forces to transport patients to the hospital. The aid package also includes consumables for the hospital and training for the Ukrainian medical team.
A trained team can deploy a hospital in about an hour. Under normal conditions, about 15 people work in the field hospital.
The transferred hospital was manufactured by the Estonian company Semetron, which adapted it to the conditions of Ukraine. For example, the heating and cooling equipment has been modified to suit the Ukrainian climate, and the tunnels connecting the equipment to the containers have been updated.
Last year, in cooperation with Germany, two field hospitals were sent from Estonia to Ukraine - in March and September.
