Actions of solidarity with Ukraine dedicated to the first anniversary of the Russian armed invasion are taking place all over the world. The events began on February 23 and continued on Friday morning, February 24.

About two thousand people - representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora - came to the rally on Svobody Square in the center of Riga. Among those present was the US ambassador to Latvia. An anti-war rally of Russians living in the republic is scheduled for Saturday morning. The action will take place near the Russian embassy. There, a Russian tank was installed in front of the building, which burned down on March 31 in Buch. Three more Russian tanks are installed in Berlin.

In Tel Aviv, Israel, near the Gabim Theater, on the anniversary of the war, a Jewish prayer was heard at a rally in support of Ukraine.

In Haifa, representatives of the Russian diaspora, who oppose the war, went to the building of the Russian embassy. Then the Russians joined the rally of the Ukrainians. The participants held a moment of silence in memory of the dead and unfurled the blue-yellow flag to Ukrainian music.

Flowers were laid at the monument to the poet Taras Shevchenko in Almaty. In Astana, the head of the local branch of the Human Rights Bureau, Artur Alkhastov, was detained. According to the publication "Sota", he previously submitted a notice of his intention to hold a picket near the Russian embassy in Astana. The lawyer was not refused, but he was still sent to the police station.

In Kyrgyzstan, the police detained and then released five participants of the action until the anniversary of the war. Regarding four of them, administrative protocols were drawn up for violation of the order of stay of foreign citizens in the country. They face a fine.

In Tashkent and Yerevan, people laid flowers at monuments to Taras Shevchenko.

Social network users report that many emigrants from Russia took part in anti-war events in the countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus.

Reports of actions of solidarity with Ukraine come from Georgia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and other countries. Representatives of both the Ukrainian and Russian diaspora participate together in many events.
