Zelenskyi: "I don't want to fight on the territory of Russia"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an interview with Sky News that the Ukrainian people remain his priority and added that he does not plan to fight on the territory of Russia.

"For me, people are the number one priority. That's why I don't want to fight on the territory of Russia. I just want them to stop the war as soon as possible and leave our country as soon as possible. I can tell you for sure, if they leave our territory, the war will stop," - he emphasized.

Western countries, particularly Germany and France, avoided supplying tanks to Ukraine because they were concerned that the move would escalate the conflict.

During an interview on January 25, Zelenskyi was informed that Germany had decided to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv after weeks of indecision. He told Sky News he was "very grateful" for the tanks, while warning that the number and timing of their delivery was "critical".

In addition, the US announced yesterday that it will send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine and begin training the Ukrainian military on this type of weapon "as soon as possible."
