The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is expanding its mission in Ukraine in order to prevent a nuclear accident during Russia's war against our country.
This was announced by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
"The IAEA is expanding its presence in Ukraine to help prevent a nuclear accident during the ongoing conflict. I am proud to lead this mission in Ukraine, where we are deploying to all of the country's nuclear power plants to help ensure nuclear safety," - he wrote.
We will remind, Grossi is going to visit Ukraine this week. It will ensure the permanent presence of nuclear safety experts at all nuclear power plants in the country.
It was previously reported that the IAEA intends to place its inspectors at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
In addition, Grossi recently said that it is becoming increasingly difficult to agree on the creation of a nuclear safety zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which is temporarily under the control of the occupiers.
