In Ankara, the capital of Turkey, within the framework of previously reached agreements, negotiations between the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubynets and the Russian Ombudsman Tetyana Moskalkova took place. Lubinets announced this in his Telegram channel.
"Night of negotiations: within the framework of previously reached agreements, a meeting was held with the Commissioner for Human Rights of Russia Tatiana Moskalkova. We discussed a wide range of humanitarian problems and cases related to the provision of human rights assistance to citizens of the two countries. We also exchanged specific proposals. We continue to work to help everyone to a Ukrainian!" - wrote the Ukrainian ombudsman.
Also, on January 11, the second meeting of ombudsmen was held in a day. However, this time with the participation of their Turkish colleague. During the second meeting, the topic of ceasefire was raised. This is reported in Moskalkova's Telegram channel.
"Very important words were spoken regarding the need for a ceasefire. It is a necessary condition for preventing human rights violations. First of all, the right to life," the message said.
Also, the Russian ombudsman reported that she called on the speaker of the Turkish parliament, Mustafa Sentop, to stop the supply of weapons to Kyiv.
"I appealed to Shentop to stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine in order to avoid further escalation of this situation," Moskalkova wrote.
