Italian journalists came under Russian fire in the Kherson region

Two Italian reporters working in the Kherson region came under Russian artillery fire and received minor injuries.

They announced this on their own social networks, from where the news reached the Italian mass media.

Reporter Claudio Locatelli and photojournalist Nicolo Celesti were traveling in a car with a large "press" inscription. It is not known exactly where the incident took place. Journalists talk about "Kherson", on the video footage they shot during the event - the private sector or the village.

Locatelli suffered a minor wound to the neck behind the ear, apparently from a piece of glass. At least several small pieces of debris entered the car, puncturing the doors and shattering the windows on both sides of the front seats.

After the first near miss that damaged their car, there was another one nearby. The journalists left the sector where the hits started and eventually took cover behind a relatively solid building with the car to check their injuries and try to fix the wheels.

In the description of the video, Locatelli writes that the shots were fired "from the opposite bank of the Dnipro where the Russian army is standing." In the second half of the video, when they are driving mostly in an eastern direction, the Dnipro is clearly visible in the footage. As the Italian ANSA transcribed his comments from the video, the journalist considers the shelling to be deliberate, because there was no one else nearby and the car was clearly marked.
