US President Joe Biden does not yet plan to visit Ukraine for security reasons.
This is reported by Politico.
"Currently, Biden has no plans to visit Kyiv, mainly due to security threats," the newspaper writes, citing several sources in the White House.
Last week, Biden held a conversation with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiу, who called on his American counterpart to continue supplying funds to the Air Defense Forces.
There is growing concern in the capitals of both countries about what to expect in the next phase of the war.
"A cold winter has slowed the fighting, which has turned into World War I-style trench warfare, but Ukrainian military officials this week warned that recent movements of Russian troops and tanks could signal a major new offensive in the coming weeks, possibly even into Kyiv." clarifies Politico.
According to Biden's aides, the American president will need to lobby European leaders to maintain the course of support for Ukraine.
