Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council, stated that the military support provided by Western countries to the Armed Forces does not meet the future needs of Ukraine.
In a comment to The Globe and Mail, Danilov said Iran has been supplying Russia with "huge" amounts of military aid, including dozens of Shahed drones that have been used to attack power plants and other civilian infrastructure.
According to Danilov, military support from Ukraine's allies "perhaps does not correspond to the scale of the challenges we may face in the future."
"If anyone in any capital is thinking whether we should get additional military support or not, I would like to emphasize that at this moment Putin's modern-day fascists are killing our citizens. The military, the civilians, and most horrifically, they are killing our children. Not everyone in the world takes it seriously enough," Danilov said.
He declined to name specific countries whose support he believed was wavering. Danilov also did not specify the specific types of weapons that the Ukrainian army lacks.
