Russia threatens to withdraw from the grain agreement

Moscow is threatening to withdraw from the grain agreement if its demands are not met regarding the export of Russian grain and fertilizers to countries in Africa and Asia. This was stated by the representative of Russia at the UN in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, Reuters reports.

"If we see that nothing is happening on the Russian side of the agreement - the export of Russian grain and fertilizers, then I'm sorry, we will have to look at it differently," Gatilov said.

When asked if Russia could refrain from supporting the renewal of the grain agreement because of fears, he replied: "There is a possibility. We are not against the supply of grain, but this agreement must be equal, it must be fair and fairly implemented by all parties."
