The procedure of annexation of the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia may last 12 days. This is twice as long as the annexation of Crimea.
This is reported by Kommersant.
According to the Russian scenario, after holding the so-called "referendums on joining the Russian Federation", the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, should recognize the "independence" of the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
It is worth noting that Russia recognized the "independence" of the pseudo-republics of the DPR and LPR on February 21, 2022.
Then, the Russian Federation must conclude agreements with the regions, which Putin will submit to the Russian parliament for ratification, along with draft laws on the adoption of new entities. Earlier, the spokeswoman of the upper chamber, Valentina Matvienko, said that the Federation Council will consider the issue of "accession" on October 4.
That is, the entire procedure of annexation, including the holding of "referendums" from September 23, can last 12 days.
