The Vesna movement in Russia called for a nationwide protest against the "partial" mobilization announced by Russian dictator Putin.
"Vesna" announces an all-Russian action against mobilization - we urge you to take to the streets of Russian cities today at 19:00," the message reads.
It is noted that venues in Moscow and St. Petersburg will be announced soon. In the regions, I call on anti-war initiatives to independently choose sites.
"Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization in Russia. This means that thousands of Russian men - our fathers, brothers and husbands - will be thrown into the meat grinder of war. What will they die for? Why will mothers and children shed tears? For Putin's palace? Now the war will really come to every house and every family. Earlier, the authorities said that only "professionals" were fighting - and that they would win. It turned out that they were not winning and they began to recruit prisoners to the front. And now the mobilization has been announced," the Vesna movement said in a statement.
The Vesna movement points out that the situation is extremely difficult.
"The war is no longer somewhere out there" - it came to our country, our homes, for our relatives. And they must die to right the wrongs of Putin's regime, which plunged Russia into terrible carnage, isolation and poverty. Deputies and officials who shouted about the need for mobilization will remain in their warm seats — alive and well. We believe that they should be mobilized and sent to Ukraine — let them die for their sick fantasies, and not send ordinary guys to die," the message reads.
