The leader of the Bosnian Serbs and a member of the presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, who arrived in Moscow to meet with Putin, believes that the war in Ukraine is a direct consequence of the expansion of NATO, and the real goal of the Americans and Europeans in this war is to contain and destroy the Russian Federation.
He stated this in an interview with "Russian newspaper".
"The conflict in Ukraine is a direct consequence of the expansion of the Alliance to the east, and the real goal is Russia, its thorough containment and finally its destruction. If you follow today's statements coming from senior officials of NATO and the European Union, where they openly insist on the defeat of Russia on the battlefield , then it becomes obvious what the West's real geopolitical goal is. In Ukraine today, the collective West is involved in the conflict with Russia," Milorad Dodik said.
He called Russia "the most important diplomatic ally of the Republika Srpska," which "protects the interests of the Serbian entity in the international political arena and within key organizations."
"For the Republika Srpska and the entire Serbian people, the most important thing is economic interaction with Russia, mainly in the framework of energy projects, where Moscow acts as our strategic partner. In addition, the Russian Federation is the guarantor of the survival of the Serbs in BiH in this unstable and uncertain time." , - added Dodik.
Separately, in an interview with TARS, Dodik called the "special operation of the Russian Federation" in Ukraine justified, because, according to him, "there are 15 million Russians in the country, and for them the Russian language is prohibited by the leadership of this country. Therefore, Russia's special operation in Ukraine is justified by the protection of the rights of its people."
The day before, Dodik arrived in Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
General elections are to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 2. This time they will take place in an unprecedentedly acute situation with security in the country, which makes the upcoming elections more or less decisive even for the very existence of the country.
With the beginning of the election campaign, Milorad Dodik once again returned to aggressive separatist rhetoric and threats of the Republika Srpska's withdrawal from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
