President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy held a phone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during which the parties discussed plans to further strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
"Had a telephone conversation with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz on a wide range of topics," Zelenskiy tweeted on Wednesday.
The President noted that during the conversation, he thanked the head of the German government for confirming €5 billion in macro-financial assistance from the EU, and also talked about the need for a full-fledged IMF program.
"Plans for further strengthening of Ukraine's defense capabilities were discussed," he concluded.
