The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, discussed the situation at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Raphael Grossi, who headed the mission to the ZNPP.
"The EU fully supports the work and efforts of the IAEA. Their courage and professionalism in carrying out the first mission at the ZNPP is impressive," Michel tweeted on Saturday.
He emphasized that the constant presence of IAEA representatives at the station is necessary to ensure general safety.
"Russia is putting the world at risk. Ensuring nuclear safety and security is key. The IAEA's permanent presence at the station is necessary," Michel said.
