The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Turkey announced that one more ship with a cargo of corn has entered the Ukrainian port by the "grain corridor".
"As part of the grain voyage the ship I MARIA,... with a vat of corn, left the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk today. In addition, 4 ships are going to Ukraine for grain", - said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey on Twitter.
At the same time the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov announced on Twitter last night that five ships entered Ukrainian territorial waters for the transportation of food. Tankers ZELEK STAR, KAFKAMETLER, OSEAN S and GREAT ARSENAL moored in the seaport for loading of about 56 thousand tons of agricultural products. The tanker ZUMRUT ANA will be moored today.
As of August 17, 24 ships have already departed from Ukrainian ports in the zone of realization of the initiative for safe transportation of agricultural products. They have over 600 thousand tons of agricultural products on board, the Ministry of Infrastructure noted.
Ukraine, the UN, Turkey and Russia signed an agreement (Ukraine and the Russian Federation separately) on June 22 aimed at ensuring safe passage of ships, Ukraine and the Russian Federation signed an agreement (Ukraine and the Russian Federation separately) on April 22 to ensure safe passage of vessels entering and exiting three Ukrainian Black Sea ports (Odessa, Chornomorsk, Pivdenny), which were blocked by Russia after Moscow's invasion on February 24.
Ukraine and Russia are large exporters of grain, and the blockade of ports has taken tens of millions of tons of grain in the country. The first ship with grain under the agreement left the port of Odessa on August 1. The first vessel under the pressure for the first time on 24 February entered the port on Odesa on 6 August. The corridor was blocked on both sides.
