Canada froze $320 million worth of Russian assets and property

Canada has blocked Russian assets worth over $413 million Canadian dollars ($320 million). This was reported by the head of the Office of the President Andrei Yermak in his Telegram channel.

"Canada has frozen $320 million worth of Russian assets as part of economic sanctions against Russia through the war in Ukraine. Thank you friends for the wonderful news," he wrote.

Canada acted immediately against Russia and since the beginning of its illegal annexation of Crimea, imposed sanctions against some 1,600 individuals and entities who contributed to the violation of Ukraine's sovereignty. Some 1,150 of them were subjected to Canadian sanctions after 24 February.

In general, the Russians in Canada had problems not only in the financial sector, but also in sports. In particular, Russian driver Mikita Mazepin, the son of oligarch Dmitry Mazepin, who is already under sanctions in Canada, had one incident during the Formula One race: the Canadian Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll gave him the middle finger.

It should be noted that during the then Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes was outdone, but Lens Stroll was 11th. Mikita Mazepin was the last to arrive, and he was fined because he blocked the superman.

And on the fact that his father constantly blackmailed the Formula 1 Haas team, which included his son, threatening to cancel their funding, if Mikita did not match. In spite of this, Mazepin the Young was always a loser, and after the beginning of the war he decided to switch from the bolide to the vans.
