Unlocking Ukraine's grain exports is a matter of life and death - Borrel

Unblocking grain exports in Ukraine is a matter of life and death for many people. Russia is obliged to lift the blockade of supplies.

This was stated by the head of the EU foreign policy service Josep Borrell, reports CNN.

"The solution of the Russian blockade of Ukrainian grain supplies is a matter of life and death for many people. Russia must lift the blockade and allow the export of Ukrainian grain," Foreign Affairs Minister Josep Borrell said before a meeting of European foreign ministers in Brussels.

It is noted that during the meeting the parties will discuss:

the war on the territory of Ukraine;

sanctions against Russia;

increasing military support to the AFU.

Also this Wednesday, the EU Commission will raise the issue of gas supplies and the Union's dependence on Russian energy carriers.

According to Borrell, the EU has no plans to stop supporting Ukraine, as well as to impose sanctions against Russia, despite the risks to its energy supply.
