At the World Games 2022, Ukraine showed its best result in history and took third place in the medal standings. According to the press service of the official website of the competition.

The Games started on July 7 in Birmingham (USA) and lasted till July 17.

Ukraine has set a record for the number of medals. Altogether Ukrainian athletes won 45 medals, 16 of which were gold, 12 silver and 17 bronze. Also managed to surpass the best result in the number of gold medals - 10 medals was in 2017.

The athletes from Germany won the medal standings with 47 (24-7-16), with the Americans in second place with 44 (16-18-10), Italy in fourth place (13-24-12) and France in fifth place (11- 15-16).

"The best result in the history of participation in the World Games - Ukraine took third place in the medal standings! Incredible performances, over-the-top efforts of the athletes, coaches and the entire Team Ukraine, which won for the sake of their free and independent country!" - Minister of Youth and Sports Vadim Gutzeit wrote.

The organizing committee of the Birmingham 2022 World Games banned Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from participating in the competition.
