Montenegro to provide Ukraine with additional military aid

At the proposal of the Ministry of Defense of Montenegro, the government of this Balkan country at a meeting on Thursday decided to provide Ukraine with additional military aid.

This was reported by the RTCG television and radio company.

"This decision reflects consistency in providing support for the preservation of Ukraine's integrity and sovereignty," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said that from the beginning of the war in Ukraine to this day, Montenegro, as a full NATO member and EU candidate, as well as a sincere friend of the Ukrainian people, condemns the unjustified and illegal invasion of a sovereign European state by Russia.

"The military and humanitarian aid provided by Montenegro is proof of selfless support for the brave Ukrainian people and continued dedication to common action against undemocratic principles," the Defense Ministry said.

The report said that in the near future the needs will be considered in cooperation with the Ukrainian side and partners to provide the necessary financial, humanitarian and military support.

As reported, the Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his willingness to visit Kyiv.
