"We heard his voice": Azov press officer got in touch with the relatives

The author of the famous photos from Azovstal, the head of the Azov Regiment press service Dmitry Kozatsky (call sign Orest) got in touch with his family after the evacuation from the plant in Mariupol. This was reported by his sister Daria Yurchenko and mother Irina Yurchenko on one of the TV channels.

"When we found out that the guys were going into captivity, for a while there was no information, it was very hard. But, thank God, Dima called his mother, we heard his voice, he said that he was alive - this is the most important thing. He said they were fed, although we do not know how and that he was ok, "- said Daria.

According to her, during Kozatsky's stay at Azovstal, his family had almost no contact with him. They were able to see each other by video link in the last days at the plant. The guy's relatives say that it was a conversation "about everything and nothing".

The military man's mother noted that she believes only in Ukraine's victory and hopes for her son's speedy return home.

"We ask the whole world not to forget about our guys. Dmytro is a simple guy, got to Azovstal in such difficult circumstances. Our soldiers have shown how courageous and heroic they are. They are people who love their family and country very much. And for all the prisoners we must fight to the last, because they are our children and our future", - stressed Irina.

Earlier, the wife of Azov commander Ekaterina Prokopenko said that the Ukrainian defenders, captured by Russian troops after a three-month siege of the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol, are held in "more or less satisfactory" conditions.

Also, the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, Oleksiy Danilov, said that Ukrainian defenders from Azovstal were taken through a humanitarian corridor to occupied Olenivka in the Donetsk region. Oleksiy Danilov stressed that no violence was used against them.
