Leonid Kravchuk, the first president of Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian side of the Trilateral Contact Group for the Settlement of the Conflict in the Donbas, died at the age of 89. About this announced the people's deputy of Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko. 

"Leonid Kravchuk died," Gerashchenko wrote.

She did not give details.

The death of the politician confirmed also the deputy from "Servants of the people" Yevgenia Kravchuk.

"The first president was the first to go... God rest the soul," she wrote on Facebook.
