No agreement on humanitarian corridors from Azovstal as of today - Vereshchuk responded to the statements of the Russian Federation

There are no agreements on humanitarian corridors from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol today. That is why there was an appeal to the UN Secretary General António Gutteres with a request to act as an initiator and guarantor of a humanitarian corridor from Azovstal for civilians. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.

"Today the Russian side once again stated the existence of a corridor for the exit of civilians from Azovstal. This could have been believed if the Russians had not disrupted the humanitarian corridors many times before. I know what I am saying because I personally negotiate and organize humanitarian corridors on behalf of the President," Vereshchuk wrote.

She noted that it is important to understand that the humanitarian corridor is opened by agreement of the two sides.

"The corridor announced unilaterally does not provide security, and therefore, in fact, is not a humanitarian corridor. So, officially and publicly I declare: about humanitarian corridors from Azovstal today, unfortunately, there are no agreements", - reported Vereshchuk.

Vereshchuk noted that this is why there was an appeal to the UN Secretary General António Gutteres with a request to act as an initiator and guarantor of a humanitarian corridor from Azovstal for civilians.

"In particular, we ask that representatives of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross be present in the humanitarian convoy. We hope for the effectiveness of negotiations of the UN Secretary General with Russian representatives", - wrote Vereshchuk.

Today, on April 25 in the morning, the General Staff reported that the enemy carried out missile and bomb strikes on the positions of our troops on the territory of the Azovstal plant.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said on April 25 that they were allegedly going to open a "humanitarian corridor" and impose a "silence regime" for the exit of civilians hiding at Azovstal in Mariupol.
