Russian occupation forces began the process of exhuming bodies that had previously been buried in the yards of residential buildings, according to the Mariupol City Council's Telegram channel on Friday morning.

"The occupiers prohibit the burial of people killed by their own people. In each courtyard put his caretaker, which does not allow Mariupol residents to give the earth their dead relatives or acquaintances. It is not known why exhumations are being conducted and where the bodies will be sent," the report reads.

According to the city council, Ukrainian intelligence recorded 13 mobile crematoriums in Mariupol.

"It can be assumed that the Russian occupation troops are trying by all means to cover up the traces of their war crimes in our city. But they won't succeed, the whole world is already recording numerous crimes by the Russian army in Mariupol," the report stresses.
