The Ukrainian armed forces created the "Free Russia" legion: it includes prisoners who decided to fight against Putin's regime

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have a new unit - the Legion "Free Russia".

Citizens of the Russian Federation, members of the Russian Army who were captured and decided to continue military actions on the side of our Armed Forces against Putin's dictatorial regime, are fighting in the Legion.

Several hundred Russians - both privates and officers - have already enlisted in the Legion.

Membership in the Legion is on a voluntary basis only. Russian prisoners of war write appropriate applications, after which each candidate is tested by the SBU and counterintelligence.

It should be noted that after joining the "Free Russia" Legion, Russian military continue to fight in their uniforms, but with Ukrainian insignia.

Legionnaires fight on a par with Ukrainian soldiers and receive good food and medical care as part of our army.
